Overview

Now in its ninth year, the PIUG Biotechnology Conference focuses on best practices for patent information professionals who specialize in biotechnology search and analysis. This year’s theme is, "Maximizing Value in Biotechnology Searching with New Technologies and Trends." Facing new challenges, patent searchers continue to provide value to companies and clients by maximizing their value and keeping up with the technologies and trends.

Conference and workshop sessions will take place at Genentech building #83, across Gateway Boulevard from the Embassy Suites.

Conference Schedule

  • Main Meeting Presentations and Exhibitions – Tuesday, February 17
  • Workshops – Monday, February 16, and Wednesday, February 18, at 8:30am - 5:00pm each day. Details will be online soon.
  • Patent Searching Fundamentals Course by PIUG – Thursday-Friday, February 19-20: 8:00am - 4:30pm on both days. Separate registration and fee required.

Tour the Genentech Cell Culture and Purification Pilot Plants

Meeting registrants are invited to attend a tour of the Genentech Cell Culture and Purification Pilot Plants. The tour will be held February 18, 2015, 8:00am to 9:00am at Building 6.

  • If you are staying at the conference hotel (Embassy Suites), there will be a hotel shuttle to take you to the Pilot Plant tour. The shuttle will return you to the hotel after the tour.
  • If you are not staying at the hotel you will need to find transportation to the tour (map of Genentech).
  • Upon your arrival, please sign in with the B5 Genentech receptionist (Main Campus).

Please respond to Erika Gill (gill.erika@gene.com) by Wednesday, February 11, if you wish to attend. Tour attendance is limited to the first 15 who respond.
