Title: Structure Searching in the Derwent Chemistry Resource – An Easy Recipe to Get Started
Abstract: In this e-Seminar you will learn about the content and features of the Derwent Chemistry Resource (DCR), the part of the Derwent World Patents Index (DWPI) that covers specific chemical substances.
The session will include a workflow example for a structure search in DCR and the retrieval of corresponding patent records describing the preparation of the substance. We will extend the search to CAS Registry and CAplus and remove duplicate records.
You should attend this e-seminar if you are a chemical searcher new to STNext or if you would like a refresher on the substance search process in DCR/DWPI.

Title: CAS FormulationsTM - Overview and Practical Search Strategies
Abstract: CAS has launched a new database on STNext providing a deeper indexing of active and inactive compounds found in formulations. The session will focus on an overview of the content, how this data is manually curated and how some practical search strategies work for formulations in pharma, agro and cosmetics. Since the launch in September 2019 several enhancements have been made to simplify the search strategies. Given the structure of this data, search strategies are quite different from searching other abstract or full-text databases. CAS Formulations provides very precise search results that would not be possible in other sources.
