Title: Patent Family Information on STN® - How to Benefit from High Quality Resources
Abstract: Reliable patent family information is of great value to IP professionals when assessing the global legal protection of individual inventions. STN offers high quality data from three major patent family databases, including the Derwent World Patents IndexTM (DWPI), CAplusTM and INPADOC. In this e-seminar we will discuss the different patent family concepts, look at quality aspects and highlight the unique features of the three databases. We provide insights how to obtain comprehensive patent family information with non-convention equivalents and how to evaluate large patent families.
In this session we will also present several tips & tricks for working with patent families and show a best practice example for multi-file searching. The e-seminar will be of interest to those new to patent information on STN, and also to more experienced searchers looking to update and deepen their knowledge.
