There are still places available on CIIPM’s next online training course, Freedom to Operate Search & Analysis – Fundamental. This course, taking place on 24-25 March, provides patent searchers with the skills needed to conduct Freedom to Operate (FTO) searches.

Topics covered in this course include:

• What is FTO?
• When and how to prepare for FTO searching and analysis
• Different search skills relevant to FTO
• Keeping a project log and writing up your search strategy
• How to determine the relevance of your results
• Understanding legal status and finding out if a patent is in-force
• When to stop the search.

Practical exercises and Q&A will make the sessions as interactive as possible in the virtual setting.
