The PIUG mission is to support, assist, improve and enhance the success of patent information professionals through leadership, education, communication, advocacy and networking. Through this international forum and discussion, we also promote and improve the retrieval, analysis and dissemination of patent information. The PIUG membership brochure offers concise information about PIUG and its many benefits for the patent information community.

Membership in PIUG Inc. shall consist of those individuals having a professional interest in patent literature, patent searching, patent analysis and patent databases. All members (all categories listed below) will have access to "Member Only" resources posted on the PIUG website and PIUG Community and other benefits listed on the Membership Benefits page.

Please note that memberships are based on a calendar-year membership term, which runs from January 1 - December 31 each year.

If you are joining or renewing as an Active member of PIUG and you are residing in an emerging country categorized as low, lower middle or upper middle income on the World Bank's World Bank List of Economies spreadsheet, you will receive the discount off the Active membership cost upon checkout.
