This presentation will cover the law and practice relating to international (PCT) patent applications. Topics to be covered include:
- The application procedure from filing to entry into the national/regional phases
- Examination of applications by the International Preliminary Examination Authority
o The IPER (Chapter I)
o The IPRP (Chapter II)
- Aspects of applications peculiar to the PCT
- Entering the national/regional phases and beyond
The topics will include details of information published by WIPO and how this may be accessed, including the WIPO databases and file histories. Strategies for effective use of the PCT system will also be discussed.
