Abstract:
Knowledge is a powerful thing. Intelligence is the ability to apply knowledge to achieve actionable results. Knowledge comes from understanding information, and information is generated when data are codified.

This workshop will show you how the EPO’s extensive patent data and comprehensive patent information, collected from multiple sources, worldwide, can deliver you the knowledge and intelligence to achieve the actionable results you need.

The workshop will involve 3 case studies in 3 different technical areas such as smart materials, additive manufacturing and personalized medicine (to be confirmed). Since the workshop is planned to be more of a ‘hands-on’ type of workshop, participants are urged to bring their own mobile devices or laptops in order to maximize the learning experience. The format is planned to involve open-ended (i.e. more than one way to do it) “assignments” in each area, using EPO’s free-to-use applications.
