Great question Webb! How to correctly refine the thousands of patents in any search result?

Take a look at the patent data collections (metadata in CSV format) posted on lens.org. It will help you get started. It includes many different patent search results with full search queries.

As part of our TechMining for Global Good initiative, Search Technology helped create and distribute a literature dataset for exploring COVID-19 research with VantagePoint or Derwent Data Analyzer. Now we would like to create a complimentary set for patents, and I wanted to reach out to the searcher community for advice. There are thousands of records that explicitly mention "coronavirus", "Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome", etc., but how would the professionals expand that search to other enabling inventions?

Alternately, what other searches could contribute? Has anyone created a good search for Ventilators or Face Masks? What else could people be making with those 3D printers besides face shields?
