Clarivate: What's New in Derwent Innovation (Registration) (Presenter: Brian Larner, Derwent Learning)
The  following new features of Derwent Innovation introduced by June 20th 2021 release would be discussed:
• Claims charting [Claim dependency chart, currently for English language version of claims]
• Changes in claims between grant and application [claims/words added (in green) or removed (in red)]
• INPADOC family timeline
• Ability to enter a publication number  [or several patent numbers] into Smart search to find similar documents [if EP patent number entered w/o kind codes,  keywords from claims from both publication stages would be extracted for a smart search; JP patent number requires a kind code]

Other recent changes:(1) CPC current or original assigning office search fields (CPCAO and CPOAO) - can see which patents has been assigned by particular office for a particular CPC codes and how a particular office classify a particular patent of field of query); (2) Dart-IP litigation layer subscription allows DI users to limit search  to a particular type of  litigated cases [IPCT IP cases field]  and see case activity summary table; all other DI users could sort results in "IP cases" column and see a symbol indicating that this patent or other patents in a INPADOC patent family are involved in litigation; (3) text clustering has been updated to Iconography clustering algorithm with new visual representation for an analyst level subscription.

Also, we explore how Reaxys collaborated with Pending.AI, a startup led by Prof. Mark Waller, to develop a ‘deep learning’ solution that predicts new synthesis routes with high accuracy for creating small organic compounds. The presentation will focus on: 1. Science behind AI powered predictive retrosynthesis; 2. Reaxys predictive retrosynthesis overview and demo; 3. Discussion on benefits, limitation of technology and future roadmap

Patent citations seem like a straightforward concept, but they contain a great deal of complexity. For instance, the expectation of citing patents in a new application varies from jurisdiction to jurisdiction.  There are different types of citations, depending on which office is generating the reports, and different ways in which citations can be used to gain insights on a particular topic.
