OverviewNow in its seventeenth year, the PIUG Biotechnology Conference focuses on best practices for patent information professionals who specialize in biotechnology search and analysis. Within a changing business environment, patent searchers continue to provide value to companies and clients by maintaining contemporary knowledge of resources, technologies and industry trends. To allow participation by a wider audience, particularly those in other countries, this year, PIUG will be making the conference available through the use of our Meeting App. We still encourage attendance in person for the full conference experience and enhanced interaction between attendees and our vendors. All sessions will be recorded and available for access within a day or two of the presentation through the app for both virtual and in-person attendees. This will be PIUG's first venture into the world of a truly Hybrid event where virtual registrants will be participating in a live stream broadcast. All plenary sessions as well as the workshops will be available as a live event. Our app also has a new feature of interest to those registrants whose native language may not be English. There is now a feature where the live stream will have the option to be viewed using closed captioning in a choice of 30 languages. Note: Closed captioning only works during live stream with approx. 30 sec delay of the stream for the AI translation to work effectively. The main difference in cost of registration essentially covers the cost of the food and beverages provided during the conference onsite. It will be good to once again meet in person and reconnect with your peers. We do encourage in-person attendance whenever possible to maximize exposure to others in your field.
